It’s Done!!

December 24th, 2011 . by Melissa

Even before I was pregnant with Jack, I made it a goal of mine to sew a quilt for each of my children while they were tenants of my womb. I met my goal with Jack fairly easily, especially considering I didn’t have a toddler running around at the time. Here’s his in case you want a refresher. With this baby I knew it would be much more difficult to make my quilting goal, so I started VERY early…basically as soon as I found out I was pregnant. You can tell I was pretty confident that it was a girl by the colors I chose… I finally finished it yesterday! I quilted this one myself on my sewing machine and hand sewed the binding. The binding wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The most tedious part was hand appliqueing her name. I made the mistake of adding her name AFTER I had quilted and bound the fabric. I am so glad it’s finished and now I just need a cute, baby girl to wrap in it.

I love the straight line quilting. You make me think I can maybe, maybe pull this off someday!

Thanks, Kim! You could totally do it. It’s really not difficult, just a little tedious!

    Thanks, Mom!
