Like Father, Like Son

Every night we carry out the same bedtime ritual in the Newman household. The three (and a half) of us gather in Jack’s room. First, we read Good Night, Moon. (Side note: Lately, my favorite part of each day is when we read Good Night, Moon to Jack and when we get to “And the quiet, old lady whispering…” Jack always chimes in for the “hush” part. It melts my heart.) Then, we read our scriptures and have a family prayer. After the prayer I always give Jason a kiss and then I give Jack a kiss. Finally, we tuck him into his bed. Well, a few nights ago we were going through our routine and Jason had just finished saying the prayer. I leaned over to him and gave him a quick peck on the lips. He looked back at me and said, “What? I want more!” So, I kissed him again, much more to his liking. Now, it was time to give Jack his goodnight kiss. So, I leaned forward and gave Jack a quick little peck. Then Jack looked up at me and said, “I want more!” Jason and I both laughed out loud at our son’s imitation of his father. It was definitely adorable!
