- Are you wondering why my little baby is dressed up like a 17 year old boy? Well, my friends, this is what you get when you forget to pack said baby’s pajamas. But, I think we may have stumbled upon something for Halloween!

Iron and Wine
July 20th, 2012 . by MelissaBack in June we ventured up to Ravinia Park, located in a suburb of Chicago, to see my very favorite “band” Iron and Wine. I have been wanting to go their show for the last 5 years, but I just kept missing it or they were only touring in faraway lands (seriously, who tours in Norway for 2 months??). So, the stars finally aligned and after a 6 year concert drought, I heard Sam Bean’s serenades with my very own ears. My favorite song is the Trapeze Swinger (if you’ve never heard it, STOP reading this post right now and listen to this song, but make sure you have a spare moment or 10 because it’s lengthy) and my little heart almost broke into a million pieces once the concert had ended and that song was still left to be sung. And then there was the encore. Oh, the beloved encore. And of course, it was the Trapeze Swinger because I am a very, very lucky girl. I won’t deny it, I cried. Happy tears of joy — the pure beauty of the song just squeezed the emotion right out of me. Oh, how I love that song. It was a fun (but very late night). A big shout out to my mom and Terry for watching our kiddos so we could go.
- Ravinia Park. One of the coolest venues I’ve been to.
- Look! We are on a date, it’s a miracle!
- Of COURSE, I just had to get the shirt!
- Sam Bean, a voice like butter.
