The Guessing Game – Baby B-day Style

January 12th, 2012 . by Melissa

Well…unless Cadence decides to come this week, I will be induced on February 12th!

I have endless numbered days ahead of me. That’s right, our little princess is going to be joining us any day…okay, maybe week….okay, maybe month now. Goodness, I hope it’s sooner rather than later! We thought it would be fun to pool our friends, family, anonymous strangers, etc. for your prediction of Cadence’s due date. Leave your guess in the comments section below and we’ll add your guess to the calendar. Whoever is closest will get some type of amazing, fantastic, life-altering prize that has yet to be determined. Happy guessing! And remember…I will like you a lot more if you put next week instead of next month. Just kidding!! (No, really.)

Craft-a-palooza

January 12th, 2012 . by Melissa

Nesting has hit me hard and in all the wrong ways! Instead of wanting to scrub the floors in a fit of OCD madness; I just want to craft, craft, CRAFT! I can’t stop. In fact, it’s taking everything within me to write this post instead of fleeing to make a glamourous white flower headband for the baby to be. How many headbands can she have? Never enough, never enough. Some of these photos show a snippet or two of the new and improved nursery (Jack and Cadence are sharing so I had to incorporate gender neutrality) but I didn’t want to make this a baby cave preview so stay tuned for final photos of that in a later post.

That’s all for now, but I feel there is more to come!

Miscellaneous

Because I couldn’t figure out where else to put them, here are some other fun pics over the break!

The first is of me and Diane. Di is one of my OLDEST (since the 7th grade!) and greatest friends. She and I are having baby girls within WEEKS of each other! How exciting! I just wished she lived closer, Antarctica…errr, I mean Wisconsin is just too far away. She had a baby shower in central Indiana over the break and I was so glad to be able to attend. Here we are with our bumps. Love this quote from Diane, “My bump feels inferior to your bump!” Hahaha.

And here are a few pics I took of Jack recently. He’s looking more and more like a little boy to me everyday and less and less like my baby. Someday, he won’t have 5 lbs. of weight in his cheeks anymore and I just won’t know what to do.

Evansville Children’s Museum

January 12th, 2012 . by Melissa

We were lucky enough to spend several days in Southern Indiana over the Christmas break. My dad was off for an entire day while we were there so we spent our time together at the Evansville Children’s Museum. The museum was formerly a library built in the 1920’s that we used to frequent when I was child. It was very neat to see it used for a different but equally good purpose. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of activities and the size of the museum. We had a fantastic day. I am not sure who had more fun…my dad or Jack?

Christmas 2011

This year we spent Christmas with my side of the family. We spent some quality with my dad and mom and our extended family. Overall, it was a very relaxing Christmas. JUST what I needed at 8 months pregnant!

The 25 Days of Christmas

January 12th, 2012 . by Melissa

Beginning with December 1st, we celebrated the 25 days of Christmas. I created my own variation of the advent calendar, with a package tied to each day representing a Christmas activity. Some days were much simpler than others,  like color a picture of Santa. Other days took more planning, i.e. gingerbread houses, the live nativity. I did a horrible job of documenting Jack opening up his activity packages and of documenting the activity themselves, but here are a few photos I did get!
